Aviation Security Screener – Level 1
(Passenger and Baggage)
The Aviation Security Officer will be able to describe the organizational structure and the need to Aviation security. They will also be able to understand the Threat to Civil Aviation.
The Aviation Security Officer will be able to effectively control the movement of People, Vehicles, and Goods in and out of the restricted area and will be able to define and classify prohibited items. Recognize explosive devices, weapons, and dangerous objects as well as identify the places and methods of concealment of prohibited items.
The Aviation security officer will be able to conduct screening and physical search of passengers and baggage according to the Criminal Procedure Act, understand the procedure of controlling the movement of people and vehicles in and out of the Airport area. Dividing the airport into non-restricted and restricted areas as well as protecting the airport with physical barriers preventing the penetration of airport barriers.
The Aviation Security Officer will understand and apply the Sterile Holding Area Search Procedures effectively when executing his / her duties. He/she will be able to escort people and consignments in accordance with Standard Operation Procedures in accordance with the ICAO regulations.
Aircraft are not only vulnerable to the introduction, the Aviation Security Officer will be able to detect and deter prohibited articles and devices on passengers but also on other persons while the aircraft is on the ground and either parked or being prepared for service/flight. The security officer will also be able to carry out prescribed actions and drills for any given emergency as laid out in the relevant procedures.
